PoE doesn't carry through additional switches/hubs, it will only be supplied to devices that are directly connected to a PoE switch (and only by request). If you have a PoE switch, and want to pass PoE to cliend devices, you should not use non- PoE switches in. It allows compatible devices, such as VoIP phones, network surveillance cameras or wireless access points to work in places where power outlets or network connections don't exist. PoE is a straightforward technology that transmits power and data via the same network cable to the powered devices. Some Ubiquiti switches have the option for standard PoE or passive 24V PoE per port but they stopped shipping the passive PoE option a while ago.
